25 Most Expensive Pets

Numerous studies have concluded that owning a pet can greatly reduce the amount of stress in your life. The reason for this is that all pets, even the naughtiest ones, are full of unconditional love for their owners. Pets are also great for families with children because almost all pets love children, and it can be a good way to teach your children about responsibility.

On average though, if you want to buy a dog with a pedigree, you may have to pay around $500 to $1,000. If you are a cat lover and want to buy a cat with pedigree, you may have to pay around $600 to $1,000. For more exotic pets and specialty cat/dog breeds, however, only the rich can afford.

#25 – Basset Hound – $2,000 on average

This cute guy made it to our #25 because its average price in pet shops as a puppy is $2,000. An adult Basset Hound is a little more expensive and its price is $2,200 on average. Basset Hounds are believed to be one of the most loved by dog owners and the most adorable feature of these canines are their low-hanging ears and their sad, droopy eyes.

This dog breed is ideal for the first-time dog owners because they can comfortably live in a small apartment with its owner and they don’t require much grooming. Another good thing about this breed is that they love children. The only disadvantage of owning this breed is that you have to take your Basset Hound every two months to the vet because this breed is prone to ear infections.
